Takashi Yamazaki's 2002 sci-fi romp; Returner, is 50% updated 1950's B-movie and 50% Matrix/Terminator/ET rip-off. It's still quite fun but could and should have been better, if it weren't for all the stupid cliches, the rubbish script, the two dimensional characters and unnecessary sub-plots it would have been. It does have a great story though, well goes without saying really as it has copied from the best, but it is still entertaining enough and is not to be taken too seriously.
