Nemesis
Dir: Albert Pyun
1992
***
Why is it that 1950's B-Movies are respected and openly appreciated and more recent B-Movies aren't? OK, so Terminator 2 came out two whole years before Nemesis but T2 had a big budget. I would argue that the makers of Nemesis achieved more for their money. I'm not saying it's better than T2, hell no, but as awful as it is it does have a certain charm about it. I'm a big fan of straight to video 90's B-Movies, this being a good example. It's heaped full of action, the special effects both in the make up/gore department and the computer aided stuff are pretty good and I think had CGI existed at the time and had been used it would have been extremely detrimental to the overall look of the film. B-Movies are ace and they will exist in every decade but I believe the best of them were made in the mid to late 80's and the early 90's. If you agree then chances are you've already seen it, if not check out Nemesis now. It's worth it just for the skinless cyborg scene at the end!
