Bottom was an excellent TV series, bringing it to the stage in the early 90s was a brilliant idea, I remember how popular it was. It was probably the first in a long line of TV shows doing the stage tours but I'm not sure it has been bettered. I can't think of any other show that has such a cult following anyway, except of course Acorn Antiques. It is fair to say it displays the lowest type of humour but it does it better than anyone before and after. On paper it's not funny but in reality it is hilarious. Rik Mayall and Adrian Edmondson make it funny, it wouldn't work with anyone else. Great for those who ever wondered what it would have been like if the Young Ones had survived the Bus crash over the cliff.
