Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End
Dir: Gore Berinski
2007
****
I think At World's End remains my favorite of the Pirates of the Caribbean films because it was too long and a little self indulgent. Not things you'd generally consider to be qualities in a film but this is Gore Verbinski and Pirates is his baby. He goes full throttle and to hell with the producers, at least that's how it seemed. It's certainly not as 'Disney' as the first two, story-wise Verbinski takes a huge risk and that's why it gets Cinephile Crocodile's seal of approval. You've got to love it for that Keith Richards alone.
