1985's Fletch flicks between funny, serious, not funny and odd in quite a clumsily fashion. This only happened in the 1980s. The editing is also all over the place, much like the story. Fletch's character traits aren't as funny as they may appear on paper either, no matter how hard Chevy Chase tries. Harsh words I know, I love Chevy Chase as much as everyone else, nostalgia helps massively and quite frankly in the 1980s you could get away with this kind of thing and it's still watchable but I'm lying if I said it was really good. I wanted to like it more than I actually did.
