The Adventure of Sherlock Holmes' Smarter Brother
Dir: Gene Wilder
1975
****
I finally sat down to watch The Adventure of Sherlock Holmes' Smarter Brother for the first time the other day and I loved it. Ok, so it wasn't as good as Blazing saddles, or most Mel Brooks films, or Wilder & Pryor's joint films..but, it's really to see such great comedy talent in one film. It's quite sad that the great Marty Feldman, Dom DeLuise, Leo McKern, Roy Kinnear, John Le Mesurier and the beautiful Madeline Kahn are no longer with us. It's also sad that the great Gene Wilder no longer works either in front of or behind the screen. It's good to have these timeless classics to look back on, it's the sort of film that will get better with each viewing I'd imagine, makes me want to do the bunny hop for sure.
