The original Mr. Peabody & Sherman cartoons are classic but were never huge, certainly not as big as The Rocky & Bullwinkle Show, from where they were first featured. The format of their big feature outing is pretty much the same as the original series which was a relief but I thought the adoption story-line and the inclusion of a third main character was unnecessary and detrimental to the overall film. There are moments whereby the story gets way to serious, when it should have saved the more serious moments for the little history lessons during their time-travel adventures. The animation is good and the voice actors were well cast, I just think the story could have been simpler and could have played for laughs just that little bit more. I would love to see more though.
