Prizzi's Honor
Dir: John Huston
1985
***
John Huston's 1985 film Prizzi's Honor is a slightly off-kilter but hugely likable comedy that has all the cliches romance films often suffer but then again, it probably created most of them anyway. The performances are pretty good and the list of great actors is pretty long. It's probably pretty far from John Huston's best film but with his catalog of films that's not really saying much. I loved Kathleen Turner's performance and Anjelica Huston. I can't believe William Hickey was only 48 when he played Don Corrado Prizzi, he plays it brilliantly but it is unsurprisingly Jack Nicholson who steals the show as a lovable hit-man who meets his match.
