The Blind Side
Dir: John Lee Hancock
2009
*
White people helping Black people, is there anything more beautiful than that? Only one country in the world still makes offensive out of date films like this and doesn't see how wrong it is. Sure it is based on a true story but I can't help but think we're not told the full story here, this sugar-coated sickly sweet tale is dripping in racism, showing all black people and white people in extreme stereotypes. Watch this film and any 'Dog' comedy and you'll see they have the same structure, it's Beethoven but with an overweight black boy instead of a St Bernard. Truly bad taste and offensive, ha, and not forgetting Oscar nominated. Contrived rubbish, enjoyed only by those on the blind side of society.
