'The Archers' are probably responsible for the greatest British War propaganda film of the Second World War. It was called 49th Parallel. There weren't that many though and One of Our Aircraft Is Missing is by far the one people remember and it's as good technically but not so in idea. While the first film was to get the American's involved, an important strategy, One of Our Aircraft Is Missing was more for morale and unity that already existed in Europe to some degree. It's also very similar in story, just seen from the point of view of the allied forces rather than 'the other side'. Edited by none other than David Lean and it shows!
