Las Acacias is for people who enjoy the simple things in life. The people who can see beauty in the everyday and wonder in the ordinary. Pablo Giorgelli delivers a subtle, tender and moving story by stripping back the unnecessary. Lovers of realism will be in their element and it's this realism that makes the film. I believed it, I cared and so it stays with me and the fairly ordinary conclusion was multiplied by a thousand. It will be a challenge of the attention deficient kids of today but stuff them, this film is for the rest of us and I for one am grateful people are making them.
