Faintheart
Dir: Vito Rocco
2008
**
Eddie Marsan can play both lovable and venomous brilliantly. In Vito Rocco's 2008 Faintheart he plays lovable with a hint of vulnerability perfectly. The supporting cast are pretty lovable too, Ewen Bremner, Jessica Hynes and Tim Healy all prove their worth. In fact, the whole film was really good, better than I've come to expect from a typical British rom-com and that's after over looking its formulaic structure. Unfortunately it's just let down terribly by the awful ending. Change the last 10 minutes and you've got a cracking film but unfortunately, due to the last 10 minutes, it feels like a complete waste of 90 minutes and is a huge disappointment that left me quite bitter.
