Wendigo
Dir: Larry Fessenden
2001
**
Larry Fessenden's 2001 horror Wendigo starts off quite well and has moments of real tension and artistic flare but unfortunately it loses its way in the second half. It's a shame really as Patricia Clarkson, Jake Weber and a young Erik Per Sullivan (from Malcolm in the Middle fame) do a great job as the terrorised family. This film could have been a classic thriller but Fessenden is a far better director than he is an editor and ultimately lets the side down. I wouldn't be surprised if the producers had a hand in its downfall too. The end result is an artist mess and a horror film that lacks fright.
