Ghost Ship
Dir: Steve Beck
2002
**
Not to be mistaken for Val Lewton 1940's film, Steve Beck's 2002 Ghost Ship is a little bit more impressive but not necessarily much better. The idea itself is brilliant, the possibilities could have been endless and a long running franchise could have been born, but unfortunately it wasn't to be. After a brilliant first sequence (and it is brilliant) the film just got silly, was a bit odd and was finally down right confusing. I still don't fully understand who the bad guy was or what had made him so bad? It looked the part but unfortunately it was another case of style over content.
