The Farmer's Wife
Dir: Alfred Hitchcock
1928
***
I'm more of a fan of the American Silent films I'm afraid to say and there is very little of the Hitchcock he would go on to become here, although some of the special effects are pretty impressive and his signature composition can be seen. I'm afraid though that the story is a bit too simple for the 90 minutes + run time, of course it's impressive for it's time and it's easy to say it hasn't aged well but unless you're a hardcore Hitchcock fan, you needn't go out of your way for it. I've rated it for the credit it is due, not on entertainment value (if that makes sense?)
