Tucker & Dale vs. Evil
Dir: Eli Craig
2011
****
Eli Craig's Tucker & Dale vs. Evil turns the 'Slasher' genre on it's head and although it does make fun of films like Evil Dead, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre and especially Friday 13th, it does so with respect and out of admiration. If anything, this is a piss-take of all the other terrible slasher films made since the aforementioned classics. Tyler Labine and Alan Tudyk are very well cast and the script and story are brilliantly written, this could have been a case of excellent idea but poor execution but that isn't the case. It has plenty of laughs and plenty of gore and is as clever as it is trying to be. The perfect comedy-horror really (after Sean of the Dead of course).
