The Fall
Dir: Tarsem Singh
2006
****
The Fall is probably one of the most visually impressive films of all time. To say it is beautiful is an understatement. The balance or contrast of reality and fantasy is very well executed, it truly is a feast for the senses. It may be let down ever so slightly by the script, which for all its boasts of being filmed in 20 different countries is a little bit frustrating. Still, any slight irritations of script and story are more than made up for by the presence of the most adorable little girl in the world. Catinca Untaru is incredibly sweet and for all the production, visual craftsmanship and huge budget - she is easily the best reason to watch.
