AVPAlien vsPredator
Dir: Paul W. S. Anderson
2004
**
Paul W.S. Anderson was a good choice of director but I think he really missed the mark with the highly anticipated Alien vsPredator. The Alien and the Predator films both existed separately in their own film franchises. The idea of them somehow crossing into each others worlds is explored at the end of Predator 2 when we see an Alien skull in the trophy room of the Predators crashed spacecraft. This isn't where the original idea was conceived though, the idea was conceived in the late 80's (around 4 years before Predator 2) by comic book writer Chris Warner. The Alien vsPredator comics were based on each of the franchises ideas but were very much their own separate stories. As much as I enjoyed seeing Lance Henriksen play Charles Bishop Weyland, Paul W.S. Anderson should have stuck to the comics as making this part of each of the film franchises has lead to countless amounts of continuity errors and quite frankly, nerdy fans of Aliens and all things sci-fi will put up with a lot of stuff but continuity errors are a big no no.
