Sharknado
Dir: Anthony C. Ferrante
2013
*
As you may have guessed, this is a film that isn't really taking itself seriously and is very much of the B-movie genre. Nothing wrong with that, it's all good fun right? No, it's not good fun. It's dreadful, and not in the 'So bad it's good' variety either. If they had the budget that say 'Snakes on a plane' had, the decent actors and well written script, then this would have been B-movie gold. Instead, it's a complete mess with bad script (As blood runs in the water as a shark attacks some poor extra our hero says "Looks like it's that time of the month". Yes he really does!) terrible acting (What is the point of Tara Reid, did she even know what the film was about or where she even was, I've never seen such gormlessness) and false promise. I think that is the worst thing of all, it promises so much. You know not to expect much of it but still, you expect something. I'm not sure the good bits would even cover a minute long trailer. It's the worst kind of fraud, you do not take peoples money or waste their time but this film manages to do both.
