Beware long, funny and/or unusual names is the usual rule of thumb for me personally and when it comes to which Ale to drink and what Horse to put a bet on I generally go with recommendations. The same can apply to film but they are harder to resist, and with a title like Cannibal Women in the Avocado Jungle of Death you'd be forgiven for fearing the worst. It's no masterpiece but it's actually quite good. Shannon Tweed is beautiful and quite good at playing it straight, Bill Maher (yes, that Bill Maher) is funny and likable but it's Karen M. Waldron who provides all the big laughs. It's a wonder why she never got a big role really, especially the 1980s, a time in which one would have thought she's have excelled. It's all rather good fun really and definitely worth a watch (especially as it has just been cleaned up and re-released). Don't be put off by the fact it is a Sexploitation/Exploitation film, it's very much a toned down version of both genres and is more parody than anything else.
