Happy, Texas is a pleasant enough comedy, never laugh out loud funny but it will make you smile. They could have taken the idea and gone too far or over the top with it but they didn't, they kept it subtle and it works well. Steve Zahn won a few awards for his performance but as good as it was, for me it was William H. Macy who actually stole the show with Ron Perlman also offering quality support. I'm surprised Steve Zahn hasn't been more successful than he has since making this film, I think he's got a lot more to give.
