The Slaughter
Dir: Jay Lee
2006

Jay Lee obviously didn't know what he wanted The Slaughter to be so he just copied loads of bits from other horror films. The result is a real mess and it fails in everything it tries to achieve. He obviously had a good budget too (unlike Evil Dead which is an obvious influence), the special effects are good in places, it's just a shame that the script couldn't have been as polished as it is this and the awful acting that really lets it down. The attempts at humour towards the end of the film are excruciating. Time to decide Jay Lee, do you want to be a porn director or a horror director, necrophilia isn't particularly sexy either. Avoid this one horror fans, you've seen it all before done better.
