Apart from the unnecessary exaggerations the film has added to the original true story, Calendar Girls is pretty good. It gets a bit stupid in places as many British films seem to these days but for whose benefit I don't know, don't America have enough silly films of their own? The stage play reads as a 'People I'd least like to see naked list' but the intended charm and fun of the real life story is still very much present. The cast are the usual suspects when you think of this type of comedy but they're all as good as always and it was nice to see John Alderton on the big screen.
