Munich
Dir: Steven Spielberg
2005
****
A brilliantly and beautifully shot film dealing with the Munich Olympic terrorist massacre of 1972. Spielberg has never been the most unbiased storyteller when it comes to his historical films, never let the truth get in the way of a good story and all that but his morals have always been in the right place and he tells the truths that matter. Here, I feel he finds perfect balance and shows that, not only are things rarely black and White but that next to no one is innocent and everyone suffers because of it. This is one of his best films to date and has redeemed him in my eyes somewhat after as many misses as hits. The cast are also, on top form especially Eric Bana in what maybe a career best (if you can top Chopper that is).
